Downstate NY ADAPT denounces the events on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021. When marginalized communities peacefully protest at the Capitol, it results in police violence against black folks, disabled folks being dragged out of their wheelchairs, and multiple arrests.
The non-reactive nature of law enforcement when white nationalists violently stormed the Capital was abhorrent.
DNY ADAPT stands/sits with our marginalized brothers and sisters who have been arrested, injured, or murdered for far less. May we continue the fight for liberation for all oppressed communities by calling out any act of white nationalism as terrorism against our country.
